MUMBAI (Commoditiescontrol) – Madhya Pradesh origin Moong along with Burma Tur Lemon variety ruled firm at Naya bazaar pulses market of Delhi on Saturday amid better local trade activity. While, Urad FAQ/SQ variety both old/new slipped on slack trade at higher rates.

Moreover, demand for processed pulses was witnessed/only to meet immediate requirement due to cash crunch.

Burma origin Tur Lemon variety gained by Rs 25/100Kg due to millers trade activity.

Madhya Pradesh origin summer crop Moong moved higher by Rs 50/100Kg on good millers buying activity, slow arrivals. While, Kanpur/Allahabad origin summer crop Moong priced unchanged amid thin trade.

Urad FAQ/SQ both old and new varieties declined by Rs 50/100Kg each due to slack local buying activity at higher rates and following weak cues from Mumbai/Chennai.

However, prices of pulses likely to get support due to rise in consumption during festive period from mid august till diwali and also becuase of recent rains in Urad/Moong producing (Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh and Karnataka, which are likely to affect standing pulses crops of Urad/Moong, resulting in lower yield and degradation in quality.

Moreover, further depreciation of Rupee from current level will also make import costlier.

Following are rates (Rs/100Kgs) of various pulses (Imported & Desi) in Delhi today:
