Domestic Tur Gains At Selective Markets; Imported Variety Firm

Mumbai (Commoditiescontrol) – Domestic tur traded firm on Monday at selective markets amid fresh millers trade activity at lower rates as buyers were finding difficulty in getting Tur in spot market for crushing as arrivals of domestic Tur reported negligible and also some monthly demand and sale counter in processed Tur reported.

Moreover, rainfall in Tur producing areas, such as Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka has also supported the prices as harvesting period of Tur will began soon and may affect the quality.

Arrivals of new domestic crop is also delayed by about a month. Overall Tur crop condition is good.

Similarly, Tur Lemon variety of Burma origin moved higher by Rs 100 each to Rs 4,900/100Kg and Rs 5,150, respectively in Mumbai and Delhi.

At Dahod market, new red Tur traded unchanged at Rs 4,600/100Kg with arrivals of 50 bags. (Each bag of 100 Kg). The quality of arrived Tur having moisture content of 15-17%, a local trader said.

Moreover, Nafed is active to liquidate old procured stock in selective states. But, not at lower rates due to less ready stock.

Balance stock with Nafed under PSS as on 28 November 2019 is around 1976.47 MT.
