MUMBAI (Commoditiescontrol) - Spot pepper prices gained by Rs 3 per kg at the major Kochi market in Kerala on Friday due to the increase in demand from North India.

The price of garbled was at Rs 339/kg, while ungarbled ruled at Rs 319/kg.

According to traders, due to the wedding season in North India, the demand for black pepper has increased, while stockists have also become active in the market after the decline of the previous days. It is also worth noting that after the efforts of the government, the supply of foreign pepper through Sri Lanka has decreased.
