Burma Urad Firm in Mumbai/Kolkata, New Urad Arrivals Seen At Barsi/Dudhani

MUMBAI (Commoditiescontrol) – Burma Urad moved higher by Rs 25-50/100Kg at Mumbai and Kolkata on Wednesday due to selected mill buying for immediate crushing requirement against limited ready stock.

However, thin offtake was witnessed in processed Urad.

At Barsi market of Maharashtra, new Urad traded at Rs 4,500-5,400/100Kg, as per quality, with arrivals of 100 bags. (Each bag of 100 Kg). The arrived Moong has moisture content of 4-5%, a local trader said. 2-3% was reported dagi quality.

At Dudhani, new Urad traded at Rs 6,200/100Kg, as per quality, with arrivals of 5 bags. (Each bag of 100 Kg).

As per Burma based local trader, buyers from India were interested tin purchasing Urad at prevailing rates against direct vessel shipment for Chennai (India).

Previous direct vessel carrying 300-400 containers had departed from Yangon for India (Chennai) on 27th July.

Supreme Court has completed hearing On Pulses Import Restriction. As per sources, Judgement is reserved. Court has not fixed the date for judgement. Parties had filed brief written submission on 27th July, not exceeding five pages.

Kharif sowing is higher and new crops will likely arrive from September end in domestic markets.

Government reduced the deadline for Urad Import Annual Quota Of 4 lakh MT by 6 months to 31st August, 2020.

However, the allocated quantity is not expected to arrive till 31st August, 2020 against the annual quota license. Millers are yet to receive import quota licenses.
