Mumbai (Commodities control) – Old Moong traded higher in selected markets of Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh on Friday as per quality amid mill buying activity on immeidtae requirement for crushing and ongoing arrivals.

Similarly, new moong moved higher at Gadag and Bagalkot market of Karnataka on local buying support.

However, demand and sale counters in processed Moong reported thin participation.

At Gadag, new Moong traded higher Rs 200 at Rs 5,000-8600/100Kg, as per quality, with less arrivals of 1500 bags. (Each bag of 100 Kg). The arrived Moong has moisture content of 15-25%, a local trader said. 75% arrivals was reported to be of damaged quality.

At Bagalkot, new Moong gained at Rs 7,000-8,500/100Kg, as per quality, with arrivals of 600 bags. (Each bag of 100 Kg). The arrived Moong has moisture content of 16-17%, a local trader said. However, no damaged quality reported.

Continuous rains during harvesting in Karnataka and Maharashtra may damage crop and quality of Moong.

In Delhi, Ranchi, Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh origin Moong were traded flat, as per quality, on limited mill buying activity on immediate rquirement for crushing.

New kharif Moong crop is expected to arrive soon in Maharashtra/Karnataka along with Rajasthan from September.
