Mumbai (Commodities Control) - Spot cardamom prices rise Rs 55-60 per Kg amid improved buying. Bodinayakanur of Tamil Nadu quoted an average price of Rs 1818 per Kg, amid arrivals of nearly 61.8 tons. Out of the arrived supplies, 58.9 tons were sold.

The auction centre quoted highest bid of Rs 2466 per Kg. Traders attribute this firmness in price to heavy rains and landslides in Kerala, that has destroyed crops in the region.

It is to be noted that around 70-80% of cardamom is produced in Kerala.
