Mumbai (commodities control) - Centre has fixed sugar quota of 21.5 Lakh tonnes for December 2020, down 1 Lakh tonne from November’s quota of 22.5 Lakh tonnes. The quota released for next month is same as was fixed in December last year.
Market was hoping for a quota of 22-23 Lakh tonnes for December 2020. Experts are of the opinion that with announcement of lesser quota sugar prices may head northward. Having said so, the quota for next month is same as that in December 2019.
