Indore (Commoditiescontrol) : With the commencement of marriage season, demand in urad and moong has risen sharply in Indore mandis, leading to steep rise in its prices in the past few days.
In the past three days, urad in Indore mandis has gained Rs 300 a quintal with demand outstripping availability. On Friday, urad (bold) in Indore mandis rose to Rs 7300-Rs 7800 a quintal, while urad (medium) was quoted at Rs 5800-Rs 6300 a quintal.
In Neemuch mandi, urad (bold) ruled at Rs 6430-Rs 6950, while urad (medium) was quoted at Rs 4000-Rs 5752 a quintal.
Weak availability and improved physical demand in best quality moong also lifted moong in Indore mandis in the past two days by Rs 200 with moong (bold) here today rose to Rs 7500-Rs 7800, while moong (average) was quoted at Rs 5500-Rs 6500 a quintal.
Chana also gained Rs 59 at Rs 5059 a quinta in Indore mandis amidst improved buying support at lower rate.
Weak demand on the other hand dragged masur by Rs 25 at Rs 5175- Rs 5200 a quintal. In Neemuch mandi masur (bold) ruled at Rs 5000-Rs 5225, while masur (medium) ruled at Rs 4300-Rs 4810 a quintal.
Tur (Maharashtra) ruled stable at Rs 6200 a quintal on subdued demand, while tur (Nimari) was quoted at Rs 5000-Rs 5700 a quintal. Given availalibity of imported tur and arrival of new crop in Maharashtra and Karnataka mandis, future of tur appears bearish in Indore.
