Thin Trade In Guar Gum, Seed, Container Shortage For Guar Korma Export

NEW DELHI (Commodities control) Gaur gum prices steadied today in spot markets of Rajasthan but guar seed recorded mixed trend. It slipped in Sriganganagar and Rajkot but gained in Adampur. Guar korma also steadied but trade sources said, korma export may slow down due to unavailability of containers. Therefore, guar korma demand was also under pressure.

Today spot trade remained very thin because of weekend. Guar gum and seed prices could not get guidance from future market as it was closed on weekend. Guar gum was stable in Rs. 5750 per quintal in Jodhpur and Rs. 5775 per quintal in Jaipur. Guar seed (mill delivery) was traded at Rs. 3750-3825 per quintal in Jodhpur. In auction trade of mandis, the seed was traded as low as Rs. 3400 per quintal. Highest auction prices fell down in Sriganganagar and Rajkot. But it gained Rs. 11 to Rs. 3650-3737 per quintal in Adampur.

Gaur korma steadied at Rs. 3980-4000 per quintal. Earlier, It was traded as high as Rs. 4100 per quintal. But exporters were facing problem to find container. Higher shipping charges also made thing adverse for the exporters. A trade source explained that earlier, containers brought import consignments from China and went back with export consignments from India. But down ward trend in imports specifically from China caused for shortage of outbound containers. Ship liners have raised charges due to lower availability of containers.
