NEW DELHI (Commodities control) Mustard seed and oil prices eased down today in spot markets of Rajasthan and other producing states. Millers’ cautious buying could not support current seed prices. The oil seed was traded at Rs. 6075-6080 per quintal in Jaipur. Mustard oil and oil cake also fell down. Total arrival of mustard seed reduced to 70,000 quintal in all the major producing areas.
According to market source, millers were buying seed to keep their plants operational. But they were buying very cautiously as they were not sure for demand at higher oil prices. mustard oil seed was hovering at around Rs. 120 per kg. Mustard oil demand dampened due to price rise The oil seed was traded at Rs. 6075-6080 per quintal in Jaipur. Earlier, it was traded at Rs. 6125-6130 per quintal. Mustard oil prices also increased to Rs. 1196-1197 in Jaipur and 1186-1187 per 10 kg. in adjoining areas. Earlier, the edible oil was traded at Rs. 1203-1204 in Jaipur and 1193-1194 per 10 kg. in adjoining areas. Mustard oil cake also decreased to Rs. 2580-2585 per quintal. Earlier, it was traded at Rs. 2595-2600 per quintal.
Total arrival was 70,000 quintal in across the country. State arrival- Rajasthan 35,000, MP 5,000, UP 10,000, HP 5,000, Gujarat 5000 and other states 10,000 bags.
