Gur prices turn bearish on subdued demand

Muzaffarnagar, July 30 (Commoditiescontrol) Gur prices turned bearish in the market s of Muzaffarnagar, a major trading centre of Uttar Pradesh due to subdued demand, said a local trader on Friday. However, he anticipates firmer tone in next month amid ensuing festive demand.

Chaku variety of gur was at Rs 2,980-3,000 per 100kg while purkaji was quoted at Rs 2,950 per 100kg. The business remained subdue in the market this week, said Arun Khandelwal, Chairman, Federation of Gur Traders.

Last week around 87,000 bags of gur of 40 kg each were lifted and daily oftake is seen around 12,000-13,000 bags, said the trader.
