White Pea in US harvest plunges 44%

Mumbai, 13 Sep (Commoditiescontrol) – The U.S. White peas harvest is expected to total in 2021 is forecast at 551,000 MT, down 44% from last year, according to the latest USDA production estimates.

Area planted is estimated at 970,000 acres, up 4% from previous forecast but down 3% from 2020. Area harvested is forecast at 919,000 acres, up 4% from the previous forecast but down 6% from 2020.

The average United States yield is expected to be 1,322 pounds per acre, down 912 pounds from 2020.
