Evening: Cotton prices soften by Rs 20-30/maund in North India, mixed trend in other states

Mumbai, 26 October (Commoditiescontrol): Cotton prices softened by Rs 20-30 per maund in the markets of North India on Tuesday evening amid lower demand from mills at higher prices. While, there was mixed trend in the mandis of Gujarat, Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh.

In Punjab, the spot delivery price of new kapas declined to Rs 6,570 to 6,600 per maund.

In Haryana, the spot delivery price of new kapas reduced to Rs 6,565 per maund.

In Upper Rajasthan, the spot delivery price of new kapas was Rs 6,550 to Rs 6,580 per maund.

In the mandis of Gujarat, the prices of cotton were improved in afternoon, and 29 mm RD 75 variety of cotton was quoted at Rs 63,400 to 63,500 per candy and RD 74 variety of cotton was quoted at Rs 62,700 per candy.

Cotton prices in the mandis of Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra were stable in the evening as compared to the morning.
