Guntur, December 2 (Commoditiescontrol) The chilli market witnessed firm buying but prices of different varieties were mixed on Thursday. The local buyers and exporters were actively sourcing red chilli with arrivals of new crop. Prices of chilli rose Rs 3 to 5 per kilo in most varieties at Guntur while Warangal market witnessed a considerable drop in the prices of some varieties by Rs 4 to 10 per kilo due to quality of the produce.
The new crop arrivals were limited. Around 3500 bags of new crop arrived today.
Export demand is currently good from China and Bangladesh for Teja, while domestic buyers are bidding for seed varieties like 341,No. 5, and 355 Byadgi Varieties, said a trader.
Warangal market received arrivals of 10000 bags today.
