Guntur, 19 January (Commoditiescontrol) Chilli prices rallied for the second consecutive day in the benchmark market of Guntur on Wednesday, while mixed tone was observed at Warangal.
Most varieties of chilli were priced Rs 3 to 5 per kilo higher compared to previous day as demand for fresh crop gathered pace. However, fresh produce is reportedly a bit immature.
Demand was firm only for deluxe qualities and their availability was also low.
Deluxe quality arrivals of 341 were from Bhadrachalam district, DD varieties from Kurnool.
Syngenta byadgi gained Rs 7 due to firm export demand.
At Warangal, Tomato variety traded Rs 10 per kg lower as deluxe qualities were not available. Other varieties witnessed minor ups and down as per demand.
Guntur market had arrivals of 55000 bags of new and around 18000 bags of cold storage, while Warangal market had arrivals of 4500 bags of new and only 600 bags of old.
