Guar seed, gum prices rise at spot on improved demand, firm futures

Jodhpur, January 25 (Commoditiescontrol) Guar seed and gum prices rose in the physical market as demand improved after a significant fall witnessed in past few session. Futures also rallied. Guar seed futures rallied over 2.5% while the most active contract of guar gum settled 3.5% higher at local bourse.

Guar seed prices were at Rs 5300-6050 per quintal in auction in the major markets of Rajasthan while it was priced at Rs 6170 per quintal in all paid. Guar gum prices were quoted at Rs 11950 per quintal. Arrivals of guar seed across the country were steady around 18000 bags.

On the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, guar gum for delivery in February ended Rs 404 or 3.50% up at Rs 11,960 per quintal while low and high of the session were Rs 11,480 and Rs 11,960 respectively.

Guar seed futures for delivery in February ended Rs 160 or 2.57% up at Rs 6,380 per quintal while low and high of the session were Rs 6,161 and Rs 6,384 respectively on the NCDEX.
