Unjha, 27 January (Commoditiescontrol) Jeera prices rose sharply for the second time in the same week. Prices jumped in both spot markets and futures also ended firm.
Jeera futures trended upward in the morning session by Rs 500 per quintal, which had a good impact on the spot markets as well.
Unjha market jeera gained about Rs 80 per 20 kg , while Rajkot market gained upto Rs 150 per 20 kg.
However, export demand is still limited at Unjha market, it is expected export demand will be higher in upcoming months, from European and American countries, said a trader.
Arrivals were increased as well at both the spot markets. Unjha market had 11000 bags of jeera, while Rajkot market had 2000 bags of 60 kg each.
Jeera for delivery in March on the NCDEX ended Rs 145 or 0.75% up at Rs 19,410 per quintal while low and high of the session were Rs 19310 and Rs 19950 respectively.
