Mumbai, 19 May (Commoditiescontrol) – Burma Urad at Mumbai, Delhi and Kolkata slipped by Rs 25-50/100Kg, respectively on Thursday amid slack mills buying activity as offtake in processed pulses reported dull amid liquidity crunch-higher temperature and also upcoming fresh overseas supplies at Mumbai port.
On other hand, Burma Urad FAQ-SQ varieties priced steady to weak at Rs 6,650/100Kg and Rs 7,150, respectively.
Vessel M V LILA BHAVNAGAR carrying 11,280 MT Burma Urad & Tur is expected to arrive at Mumbai port on 20th May 2022, according to a shipping agency.
However, the depreciation of against USD may provide support to Tur-Urad at lower levels . Landing cost of imported tur-Urad increased as Rupee depreciated to 77.71 against US dollar.
Andhra Pradesh origin new Urad priced unchanged at Rs 7,000/100Kg for Delhi delivery.
Moreover, summer crop new Urad arrivals in small quantity has begins at Jabalpur market of Madhya Pradesh.
In the overseas markets, at Burma, Urad SQ-FAQ varieties ruled firm by $5-10 each at $1000 and $900, respectively per metric ton on CNF basis due to local activities. Meanwhile, Indian buyers were inactive due to disparity. No vessel loading of pulses was reported for India (Chennai). One direct vessel for Chennai on 28th May was reported. But, still not confirmed for pulses loading.
At Guntur, new Urad polish and Unpolish Urad, as per quality, declined by Rs 50 each at Rs 6,650/100Kg and Rs 6,350, respectively. Branded Urad SQ gota also offered lower by Rs 50 at Rs 8,850/100Kg in Guntur.
On other hand, new Urad polish and unpolish Urad firmed by Rs 25 each at Rs 6,625/100Kg and Rs 6,425, respectively at Vijaywada market on selected mills buying support.
Domestic Urad declined by Rs 100 at Rs 6,000-6,700, as per quality at Latur market on thin trade activities.
While, new summer crop Urad traded higher by Rs 100 at Rs 6,000-6,800/100Kg, as per quality at Rajkot market on mills purchase.
Trend : Prices are likely to remain range bound as there is matching demand and supply .There is good demand from southern markets at the same time there is ample supply form domestic and Burma markets. Further increase acreage for summer crop will keep price under check in near term.
