Mumbai, 19 May (Commoditiescontrol) – Summer crop new Moong prices traded higher by Rs 100 at Rs 5,500-6,400/100Kg, as per quality, at Rajkot market due to mills buying activities and less arrivals of 1500 bags. (Each bag 100Kg).
Local along with Maharashtra-Rajasthan millers were active in purchasing new summer crop Moong from Rajkot.
Similarly, commodity moved higher by Rs 200 at Rs 5,800-6,200/100Kg, as per quality, at Washim market due to selected mills trade on immediate requirement for crushing and reduced arrivals of 300 bags.
Rajasthan origin Moong ruled unchanged at Rs 4,500-6,600/100Kg, respectively, as per quality, at Naya bazaar pulses market of Delhi on thin mills purchase.
Nafed sold procured summer crop Moong-2021 at Rs 6,201/100Kg in Madhya Pradesh on 18th May, 2022.
As on May 19, 2022, NAFED has procured 1,441 MT of Moong at MSP of Rs 7,275 under PSS during the 2022 Rabi season. Tamil Nadu:1,236 MT and Andhra Pradesh:205 MT.
Trend - Moong prices are likely to remain under pressure due to factors such as harvesting of summer crop Moong begins in Madhya Pradesh-Gujarat, record cultivation at Punjab, and the government liquidating old stock at lower rates in the tender. Stockiest are interested in liquidating their stock. Prices may remain under pressure during the arrival period which is to start from month-end and last up to June end.
