New Delhi, 25 May (Commoditiescontrol) Wheat prices were mostly steady in the physical market on Wednesday amid weak sentiment. The buyers were hesitant to proceed for new contract as they fear that prices may fall further as the govt has again cleared its stand on export front.
Commerce and Food Minister Piyush Goyal has ruled out any further relaxation of the export ban on wheat, saying India will continue to allow wheat shipments to friendly countries as well as those in serious need of it. He said the country’s production is enough to meet domestic consumption.
The farmers are not ready to liquidate their stocks at lower rates while stockiest and traders are seen reluctant to increase their stock position.
