Mumbai, June 21 (Commoditiescontrol) Monsoon has advanced into Maharashtra and some other parts of the country but pace of progress is slow and sluggish rainfall has been received in the state so far. As per the IMD’s rainfall statistics, Maharashtra received 54% deficient rains since June 1.

However, IMD has predicted heavy rains in the region of Madhya Maharashtra and Vidarbha today. Maharashtra received 29% deficient rains previous day.

The rainfall activities are expected to increase in coming days in Maharashtra which will help improve moisture in the agriculture land and the pace of sowing of kharif sowing will increase, a trade analyst said.

As per the IMD’s forecast, Delhi will have a partly cloudy sky today, with the possibility of very light rain and thundershowers.
