Mumbai, 10 Aug (Commoditiescontrol): Moong prices declined by Rs 100-200/100Kg, as per quality at Rajkot and Dahod market on thin mills purchase as offtake in processed Moong reported slow.

Uttar Pradesh origin summer crop new Moong priced declined Rs 50 at Rs 6,600-7,000, as per quality at Naya bazaar pulses market of Delhi. Ranchi origin summer crop new Moong dropped by Rs 50 at Rs 7,000, as per quality at Naya bazaar pulses market of Delhi.
Nafed sold procured Kharif Moong-2020 at Rs 6,223-6,262/100Kg in Rajasthan on 8th August, 2022.
So far, the Punjab government has purchased 4807 MT of summer moong. Markfed, which is state nodal agency for the procurement. The Punjab government extended the procurement date on MSP till August 10. The government has also decided to bear the gap up to Rs 1,000 per quintal for moong crop sold below MSP to the farmers due to damage in grain.
A fresh rainfall is likely to cause more damage to recently sown and standing crops. Forecast of heavy rains in the coming weeks spell negative.
As on 10 Aug, 2022, NAFED has procured 8,338 MT of Moong at MSP of Rs 7,275 under PSS during the 2022 Rabi season. Tamil Nadu:4,250 MT, Odisha:3,324 MT and Gujarat:764 MT.
