Burma Urad prices fall at Chennai amid thin mill trade

Mumbai, 16 Aug (Commoditiescontrol): Prices of Burma Urad remained weak at Chennai market weighed by thin mills trade, slow offtake of Urad, and weak cues from the Burmese market.

Moreover, supply from Burma is likely to increase due to the devaluation of the Burmese currency which makes the Burma export cheaper in Us dollar terms.

New Kharif Urad traded at Rs 6,950-7,105/100kg with arrivals of 140 bags (Each bag 100Kg) at Dudhani market of Maharashtra. At Solapur market, new Urad with arrivals of 1 truckload was unsold.

Polish-unpolish Urad prices priced weak by Rs 100/100Kg each at Rs 8,200/100Kg and Rs 8,000, respectively in Guntur markets of Andhra Pradesh. Similarly, Urad gota variety also offered weak by Rs 100 at Rs 101,00/100Kg.

At Burma, Urad SQ-FAQ eased by $5 each at $1,010 & $870 per metric ton on CNF basis for Mumbai. As per local trader, availability of Urad stock approximately 3.5 lakh tonne.
