NEW DELHI, Sept 24 (Commoditiescontrol): Cotton prices quoted unchanged in the mandis of lower Rajasthan on Saturday amid limited buying from mills, while daily arrivals were reported lower.
The weather remained inclement in the cotton growing areas of the state, with some areas have received rain. According to traders, the prices of cotton quoted unchanged today in the domestic market amid lower than normal buying. The overall sentiment is not supportive as after the clearing up of the weather, the arrival of new cotton will increase in the mandis of the state, and there will be pressure of arrivals in the next month. In addition, the spinning mills of the state are facing disparity due to weak local and export demand in yarn. The production is also expected to be higher than last year due to increase in sowing of cotton in the state in the current season.
A total 400 bales of kapas arrived today in the state, down from 500 bales a day before.
In Alwar, Khairthal and Behror lines of the state, the price of 28.5 mm cotton was at Rs 75,000-75,500 per candy (one candy - 356 kg).
In Mewar/Vijaynagar line, there is no availability of premium quality cotton of 28 mm.
Cotton prices in Marwar line quoted at Rs 75,000 - 75,500 per candy.
Cotton prices in Beawar line were Rs 75,000 - 75,500 per candy.
Cottonseed prices ranged from Rs 3,800 to Rs 3,900 per quintal in the state's mandis.
