Mumbai, 28 Sep (Commoditiescontrol): Chana or Chickpea prices traded mixed, at select markets, on limited trade from besan and dall mills.
Activity in Chana Dal and Besan was slow despite ongoing festive season. Buying interest was restricted to meet the immediate requirements.
Nafed sold procured Chana Rabi-2022 at Rs 4,701-4,707 in Rajasthan on 26th Sep, 2022. The nodal agency also sold procured Chana Rabi-2022 at Rs 4,701-4,725 in Andhra Pradesh, and sold procured Chana Rabi-2020 at Rs 4,321-4,395/100Kg in Madhya Pradesh.
Further, it sold procured Chana Rabi-2022 at Rs 4,700-4,701/100Kg in Karnataka. Also, it sold procured Chana Rabi-2018 at Rs 4,611/100Kg in Uttar Pradesh.
Sentiments continue to feel the pressure from governments earlier decision of flooding markets with more stocks ahead of Diwali festival, a move aimd at checking price rise. Accordingly, it informed Nafed to dispose 15 Lakh tons of Chana at a discount of Rs 8/Kg to states.
Further, Nafed, too, is actively #liquidating old procured Chana stock at discounted price in major state.
Currently, Nafed has more than 3 mt of Chana under the buffer stock, of which around 0.5 mt are from the 2020 and 2021 seasons.
