China likely to import around 1.95 million tonnes of sugar next year

Mumbai, September 29 (Commoditiescontrol) China is likely to import around 1.95 million tonnes of sugar in the next year, as per a report.

According to China has set its 2023 sugar import quota at 1.945 million tonnes, unchanged from the previous year. The report is based on the information received from Chinese Commerce Ministry.

Quota volumes benefit from a lower import tariff. On its website, the ministry said 70% of the quota would go to state-owned firms, it said.
