Mumbai, Jan 27 (Commoditiescontrol): Jeera prices remained almost unchanged at both Unjha & Rajkot market on Friday despite futuresweak.
As per Unjha based local trader, some need base buying was witnessed in average quality tracking firm futures during early trade session. While, no trade was witnessed in superior quality even at lower rates Meanwhile, Weather remains favourable for jeera crop. Steady arrivals of 2000 bags from surrounding areas at Unjha were witnessed.
As per the market report, about 8000-9000 bags were on sale in the local market.
Similarly, steady trend was seen at the Rajkot market on slack trade activity amid steady arrivals of 400 bags.
Singapore quality for export was priced unchanged in the range at Rs 6,200-6,250/20Kg within 15 days Kandla-Mundra delivery.
Jeera stock at the NCDEX accredited warehouses as on January 26 was reported at 1,853 MT at Unjha center, similar in the previous day, as per exchange data.
Jeera contract for March delivery settled at Rs 31000/quintal showing an fall of Rs 485 over previous close of Rs 31485/quintal,The contract moved in the range of Rs 30250-31990 for the day. Open interest increased by 18 MT to 4848 MT, while trading volume decreased by 501 to 3051 MT.
Jeera contract for April delivery settled at Rs 30820/quintal showing an fall of Rs 610 over previous close of Rs 31430/quintal,The contract moved in the range of Rs 30175-31890 for the day. Open interest increased by 351 MT to 1227 MT, while trading volume increased by 549 to 1080 MT.
Currently The spread between March and April contract is -180 Rs/quintal.
