New Delhi, June 19 (Commoditiescontrol): Mentha oil prices experienced a slight increase in the physical market, while futures remained almost steady amid thin buying activities. Despite the limited demand from local industries, there is a gradual increase in supply and a notable demand from the overseas market.
In Chandausi, mentha oil prices rose by Rs 3, bringing the range to Rs 958-960 per kg. Similarly, in Barabanki, prices increased by Rs 2, reaching Rs 917 per kg.
In the futures market, the mentha oil contract for June delivery saw a modest rise of Rs 1.4, trading at Rs 907.8 per kg on the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX), with an open interest of 304 and a volume of 166. Conversely, the July delivery contract saw a slight decline of Rs 0.5, settling at Rs 921 per kg, with an open interest of 264 and a volume of 111.
Mentha Oil contract for MAY delivery settled at Rs 907.8/quintal showing an rise of Rs 1.4 over previous close of Rs 906.4/quintal,The contract moved in the range of Rs 901.7-912 for the day. Open interest decreased by -44 MT to 304 MT, while trading volume decreased by -83 to 166 MT.
Mentha Oil contract for JUNE delivery settled at Rs 921/quintal showing an fall of Rs -0.5 over previous close of Rs 921.5/quintal,The contract moved in the range of Rs 919-927.2 for the day. Open interest increased by 25 MT to 264 MT, while trading volume decreased by -54 to 111 MT.
Mentha Oil contract for JUL delivery settled at Rs 932/quintal showing an rise of Rs 1 over previous close of Rs 931/quintal,The contract moved in the range of Rs 931-934.5 for the day. Open interest increased by 24 MT to 25 MT, while trading volume increased by 24 to 25 MT
