New Delhi, July 18 (CommoditiesControl): Chilli prices remained mostly steady in the major markets of Guntur and Khammam, while prices in Warangal saw an increase. According to local traders, end users are not purchasing aggressively, leading to a decline in prices since the beginning of the month. Additionally, weak export demand has kept prices lower.
Arrivals were reported at 83,000 bags, an increase of 9,000 bags due to higher arrivals in Guntur. Specifically, Guntur recorded 75,000 bags, 15,000 more than the previous session. Warangal reported 3,000 bags, and Khammam saw 5,000 bags, which is 6,000 fewer than the previous session.
Prices are expected to remain stable with a potential downward trend due to excess supply. However, as prices have already fallen, a sharp decline is unlikely.
