Ahmedabad, July 18 (CommoditiesControl): After many days of stagnant prices, the coriander market in Gujarat saw an increase today. Traders attribute this rise to local demand and market dynamics. Yesterday, the main coriander market in Gondal was closed, leading to speculation about higher arrivals today. However, arrivals in other markets were steady, providing support to prices amid slow activity in both local and export markets.
Rajkot trader Purushottambhai noted that farmers now have limited coriander stock, while stockists still possess last year's stock, which is currently entering the market. He mentioned that if export activity picks up in the coming days, it could further support the market.
Today, approximately 8,000 bags of coriander arrived in Gujarat, with the average price ranging from Rs 1,300 to Rs 1,500 per 20 kg.
In Gondal Mandi, 4,000 bags of coriander arrived, and 3,620 bags were traded at Rs 1,341-1,561 per 20 kg. In Rajkot Mandi, 700 bags arrived, with trades occurring at Rs 1,050-1,425 per 20 kg.
Other arrivals included 500 bags in Jamjodhpur Mandi, 1,200 bags in Junagadh Mandi, 150 bags in Jetpur Mandi, and around 800 bags in other markets.
