New Delhi, July 18 (Commodities Control): Mentha oil prices extended their gains for the third consecutive session on Thursday as demand continued to improve. Prices of mentha oil rose in the physical market, driven by increased demand and firm cues from futures, according to trade analysts.
In the market of Chandausi, mentha oil prices were quoted Rs 5 higher at Rs 983-985 per kg. In the market of Barabanki, prices were quoted at Rs 935 per kg today.
The mentha oil future contract for delivery in July increased by Rs 12.4 to Rs 958.8 per kg at the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX), with an open interest of 485 and a volume of 246.
The mentha oil future contract for delivery in August rose by Rs 10.1 to Rs 972 per kg at MCX, with an open interest of 330 and a volume of 106.
Mentha Oil contract for JUL delivery settled at Rs 958.8/quintal showing an rise of Rs 12.4 over previous close of Rs 946.4/quintal,The contract moved in the range of Rs 947-959 for the day. Open interest decreased by -41 MT to 485 MT, while trading volume increased by 171 to 246 MT
Mentha Oil contract for AUG delivery settled at Rs 972/quintal showing an rise of Rs 10.1 over previous close of Rs 961.9/quintal,The contract moved in the range of Rs 964.9-972 for the day. Open interest increased by 30 MT to 330 MT, while trading volume increased by 47 to 106 MT.
Mentha Oil contract for SEP delivery settled at Rs 986.9/quintal showing an rise of Rs 11.9 over previous close of Rs 975/quintal,The contract moved in the range of Rs 977-989.8 for the day. Open interest increased by 8 MT to 40 MT, while trading volume increased by 11 to 11 MT.
Currently The spread between JUL and AUG contract is -13.2 Rs/quintal.
Currently The spread between AUG and SEP contract is -14.9 Rs/quintal.
Currently The spread between JUL and SEP contract is -28.1 Rs/quintal.
