Slowdown in Gujarat's Cumin Market, Prices Remain Stable

Ahmedabad, July 19 (CommoditiesControl): Gujarat's cumin market is experiencing a slowdown, with prices remaining stable due to a lack of local demand and sluggish exports. Except for Unjha, other markets have seen insignificant arrivals. Currently, the arrival of cumin is limited, and the market shows little activity due to the lack of demand. Traders are keeping an eye on the market, anticipating potential changes based on future sales and demand.

In Unjha market, around 4,000 bags of cumin arrived today. The price of rough cumin ranged from Rs 4,600 to Rs 4,800 per 20 kg, while the best quality cumin was priced between Rs 5,000 and Rs 5,100 per 20 kg. The price of Bombay Bold cumin stood between Rs 5,100 and Rs 5,200 per 20 kg. Across the entire state of Gujarat, the total arrival was around 8,000 bags.

In Gondal market, 350 bags of cumin were traded at prices ranging from Rs 5,001 to Rs 5,151 per 20 kg. Rajkot market saw an arrival of around 450 bags, with prices ranging from Rs 4,400 to Rs 5,202 per 20 kg.

Jeeraunjha contract for JUL delivery settled at Rs 26570/quintal showing an fall of Rs -350 over previous close of Rs 26920/quintal,The contract moved in the range of Rs 26430-26715 for the day. Open interest decreased by -51 MT to 18 MT, while trading volume decreased by -18 to 39 MT.

Jeeraunjha contract for AUG delivery settled at Rs 26655/quintal showing an fall of Rs -375 over previous close of Rs 27030/quintal,The contract moved in the range of Rs 26550-27300 for the day. Open interest increased by 21 MT to 2649 MT, while trading volume decreased by -504 to 516 MT.

Jeeraunjha contract for SEP delivery settled at Rs 26400/quintal showing an fall of Rs -460 over previous close of Rs 26860/quintal,The contract moved in the range of Rs 26320-26660 for the day. Open interest increased by 36 MT to 735 MT, while trading volume decreased by -63 to 69 MT.

Currently The spread between JUL and AUG contract is -85 Rs/quintal.

Currently The spread between AUG and SEP contract is 255 Rs/quintal.

Currently The spread between JUL and SEP contract is 170 Rs/quintal.
