Ahmedabad, July 22 (CommoditiesControl): Coriander prices in Gujarat have risen by Rs 10-15 per 20 kg today. Traders attribute this increase to heightened inquiries and perceived demand, though the true driver is the influx of damp coriander due to recent heavy rains in Saurashtra.
Last week’s significant rainfall, particularly in Porbandar and Khambhalia—key coriander arrival centers—has led to a higher proportion of damp goods entering the market. As a result, there is a growing demand for better quality coriander, pushing prices upward. The market's direction will depend on sales trends over the coming days.
Today, Gujarat saw an arrival of around 6100 bags of coriander, with state prices averaging between Rs 1310 and Rs 1510 per 20 kg.
In Gondal Mandi, 3620 out of 4000 arriving bags were traded, with prices ranging from Rs 1351 to Rs 1581 per 20 kg. Rajkot Mandi, which saw the arrival of 900 bags, reported trades between Rs 1100 and Rs 1409 per 20 kg. Additionally, Junagadh Mandi received 250 bags, Jetpur Mandi 300 bags, and Jamjodhpur Mandi 100 bags, with 500 bags arriving from other areas.
