Ahmedabad, August 06 (CommoditiesControl): Gondal Mandi, the main center for coriander arrival, reopened today after being closed for the past two days, resulting in the arrival of over 6,000 bags of coriander. Across the entire Saurashtra region, more than 11,000 bags of coriander arrived today. However, due to a lack of demand, both local and export, prices declined by Rs 10 per 20 kg.
Traders attribute the price drop to the surplus arrival of coriander and weak demand. There is significant pressure on prices due to the large amount of old stock that farmers and stockists are bringing to the market. In Gujarat, around 11,200 bags of coriander arrived today, with the average price remaining stable at Rs 1,310-1,510 per 20 kg. It is noteworthy that for several days, coriander arrivals ranged between 5,000-6,000 bags, but today's arrival numbers have doubled.
In Gondal Mandi, 6,000 bags of coriander arrived, with 4,210 bags traded at Rs 1,341-1,591 per 20 kg. In Rajkot Mandi, out of 1,450 bags that arrived, trading occurred at Rs 1,200-1,495 per 20 kg.
