Ahmedabad, 6 September (CommoditiesControl): The cumin market in Gujarat has exhibited a lack of movement in prices due to a slowdown in trading activities. The market remains steady as limited demand meets a consistent supply.

In recent days, a substantial quantity of cumin has been arriving at the Rajkot market. Traders report that the influx is primarily due to farmers dispatching their produce. Despite this increased arrival, there has been no significant fluctuation in prices, attributed to the stagnant demand and routine export business, which has provided no new impetus to the market.

Today's arrivals in the Unja market totaled approximately 7000 bags. The price for rough cumin ranged between Rs 4250 and Rs 4400 per 20 kg, while best quality cumin was priced at Rs 4600 to Rs 5000 per 20 kg. Bombay Bold cumin saw prices between Rs 5000 and Rs 5100 per 20 kg.

In the Rajkot Mandi, about 1500 bags were received with prices ranging from Rs 4200 to Rs 4780 per 20 kg. Meanwhile, the Gondal Mandi saw 1274 bags arriving, with prices fluctuating between Rs 4571 and Rs 4881 per 20 kg.

Overall, the cumin market is holding steady as trade remains subdued, with no significant shifts in pricing expected in the near term.
