Ahmedabad, September 9 (CommoditiesControl): The coriander market in Gujarat is witnessing a notable upward trend, driven by stable local and South Indian demand. Today, prices for coriander have risen by Rs 10-15 per 20 kg, reflecting the consistent demand across the region.
Approximately 9250 bags of coriander were received across the state today, with prices maintaining a range of Rs 1290-1450 per 20 kg. The market dynamics indicate strong support for prices if the current demand persists.
At the Gondal Mandi, 4000 bags of coriander were received, and a total of 6700 bags were traded at rates ranging from Rs 1331 to Rs 1521 per 20 kg. Meanwhile, in Rajkot Mandi, the 1700 bags that arrived were sold at prices between Rs 1190 and Rs 1411 per 20 kg.
Other notable arrivals included 1900 bags in Junagadh Mandi, 250 bags in Jetpur Mandi, and 600 bags in Jamjodhpur Mandi. Additionally, 800 bags from various other sources were traded around Rs 1190 per 20 kg.
Overall, the market remains optimistic about the outlook for coriander prices, provided that demand continues at its current level.
Dhaniya contract for SEP delivery settled at Rs 6700/quintal showing an fall of Rs -76 over previous close of Rs 6776/quintal,The contract moved in the range of Rs 6610-6754 for the day. Open interest decreased by -1490 MT to 16010 MT, while trading volume increased by 1825 to 3980 MT.
Dhaniya contract for OCT delivery settled at Rs 6878/quintal showing an fall of Rs -84 over previous close of Rs 6962/quintal,The contract moved in the range of Rs 6870-6940 for the day. Open interest increased by 875 MT to 13065 MT, while trading volume increased by 680 to 3535 MT.
Currently The spread between SEP and OCT contract is -178 Rs/quintal.
