Ahmedabad, September 10 (CommoditiesControl); The coriander market in Gujarat, which had experienced a recent surge, has seen prices soften today by Rs 10 per 20 kilograms due to reduced demand from South India. The market's performance hinges on demand trends in the coming days, with current market support lacking due to minimal export activity. Traders report that farmers still have substantial old coriander stocks, which leads to increased selling whenever prices rise.
Today, approximately 9,525 bags of coriander arrived in Gujarat. Despite the increase in arrivals, the average price across the state remained steady at Rs 1,275 to Rs 1,450 per 20 kilograms.
In Gondal Mandi, 4,000 bags of coriander (with each bag weighing 40 kg) arrived, and 7,030 bags were traded at prices ranging from Rs 1,311 to Rs 1,601 per 20 kilograms. Rajkot Mandi saw an arrival of 2,000 bags, with trading prices between Rs 1,180 and Rs 1,380 per 20 kilograms.
Other mandi arrivals included 1,300 bags in Junagadh Mandi, 325 bags in Jetpur Mandi, and 1,100 bags in Jamjodhpur Mandi, with an additional 800 bags from nearby areas.
Overall, the coriander market is expected to remain under pressure from low demand, with price movements largely dependent on upcoming demand trends and export activity.
