MUMBAI, 16 Sep (Commoditiescontrol): The Gondal Mandi, a key peanut trading hub in Saurashtra, remained closed today due to Eid, with Junagadh market also shutting down for the holiday. However, the Rajkot market remained open, where traders observed higher arrivals of new peanut stocks. Despite the influx, most of the arrivals contained moisture, affecting quality.
According to local traders, Gondal market will remain closed tomorrow as well due to Ganesh Visarjan. Prices in the peanut market remained unchanged today, holding steady across the board. Future price movements are expected to depend on the supply and demand for new peanuts in the coming days.
In northern Gujarat, peanut arrivals have been notably low, with new stock expected to gradually pick up around Navratri.
Today in Rajkot, around 6,500 bags were received, with average-quality peanuts fetching prices between ₹1,080-₹1,251 per 20 kg, and the best-quality peanuts ranging from ₹1,020-₹1,173 per 20 kg. Of the total arrivals, 4,000 bags of new peanuts were traded at prices ranging from ₹950-₹1,250 per 20 kg.
