Coriander Prices Dip Amid Weak Demand in Gujarat Markets

Ahmedabad, October 04 (CommoditiesControl): The coriander market in Gujarat has experienced a notable downturn today, with prices softening by 10-15 rupees per 20 kg due to diminished demand. A decrease in demand from southern regions and sluggish export activities have contributed to this market pressure.

Today, approximately 11,500 bags of coriander were brought to market, with prices maintaining a steady average between Rs 1330-1510 per 20 kg. The market's future trajectory will largely depend on coriander arrivals in the coming days.

In Gondal Mandi, 6,860 bags were traded at prices ranging from Rs 1381 to Rs 1611 per 20 kg, against an arrival of 6,000 bags (with one bag equating to 40 kg).

Similarly, in Rajkot Mandi, trades were conducted at Rs 1160-1440 per 20 kg, in light of 1,200 bags arriving. Other mandi arrivals included 1,900 bags in Junagadh, 400 in Jetpur, and 1,000 in Jamjodhpur, with an additional 800 bags arriving at other locations.

Dhaniya contract for OCT delivery settled at Rs 7250/quintal showing an fall of Rs -14 over previous close of Rs 7264/quintal,The contract moved in the range of Rs 7146-7310 for the day. Open interest decreased by -1465 MT to 16115 MT, while trading volume decreased by -570 to 3640 MT.

Dhaniya contract for NOV delivery settled at Rs 7450/quintal showing an fall of Rs -28 over previous close of Rs 7478/quintal,The contract moved in the range of Rs 7352-7520 for the day. Open interest increased by 1565 MT to 11235 MT, while trading volume decreased by -315 to 3005 MT.

Currently The spread between OCT and NOV contract is -200 Rs/quintal.
