New Delhi, October 5 (Commodities Control): Cotton prices in Maharashtra's mandis have declined for the third consecutive working day on Saturday, primarily due to sluggish purchases by spinning mills. Despite this trend, daily arrivals of Kapas have remained stable.
Traders report that local demand for cotton yarn is weak, and export deals for cotton are occurring in limited quantities, which has contributed to the downward pressure on prices in the spot market.
Experts indicate that cotton prices have fallen between Rs 3,500 and Rs 4,000 per candy over the past month. If favorable weather conditions persist, it is anticipated that the arrivals of new Kapas will increase by the end of this month, leaving little room for a price recovery in the short term. Both Kapas and cottonseed prices have stabilized in the state.
