Cumin Prices Remain Steady in Gujarat Amid Stable Arrivals

Ahmedabad, October 08 (CommoditiesControl): The cumin market in Gujarat has shown stability today, with arrivals matching the volume of trade, indicating a balanced supply and demand scenario. Local demand remains low, and traders are closely monitoring the market following the conclusion of China’s holidays, as they await updates on export activities over the next few days.

In Unjha mandi, approximately 13,000 bags of cumin were reported today. Prices for rough cumin ranged from Rs 4,550 to Rs 4,650 per 20 kg, while the best quality cumin was priced between Rs 4,850 and Rs 5,000 per 20 kg. The Bombay Bold variety fetched prices of Rs 5,000 to Rs 5,300 per 20 kg.

Other markets also reported arrivals, with Gondal Mandi seeing 1,873 bags traded at prices ranging from Rs 4,781 to Rs 4,961 per 20 kg. Meanwhile, Rajkot Mandi received around 1,300 bags, with prices between Rs 4,500 and Rs 4,891.

Overall, the market sentiment remains cautious as traders await further developments in export operations, which could influence future price movements.



Jeeraunjha contract for OCT delivery settled at Rs 26790/quintal showing an rise of Rs 185 over previous close of Rs 26605/quintal,The contract moved in the range of Rs 26590-26995 for the day. Open interest decreased by -93 MT to 1092 MT, while trading volume decreased by -690 to 516 MT.

Jeeraunjha contract for NOV delivery settled at Rs 26200/quintal showing an rise of Rs 95 over previous close of Rs 26105/quintal,The contract moved in the range of Rs 26035-26370 for the day. Open interest increased by 108 MT to 2052 MT, while trading volume decreased by -738 to 585 MT.

Jeeraunjha contract for DEC delivery settled at Rs 26060/quintal showing an rise of Rs 300 over previous close of Rs 25760/quintal,The contract moved in the range of Rs 26060-26060 for the day. Open interest increased by 30 MT to 195 MT, while trading volume decreased by -54 to 33 MT

Currently The spread between OCT and NOV contract is 590 Rs/quintal.

Currently The spread between NOV and DEC contract is 140 Rs/quintal.

Currently The spread between OCT and DEC contract is 730 Rs/quintal.
