Mumbai, 08 Oct 2024 (Commoditiescontrol): Kabuli Chana prices saw a decline across major markets on Tuesday, impacted by weak export and doestic demand . In Indore, a key trading center, subdued buying activity led to a ₹300 per quintal drop in mandi prices, while container trade prices slipped by ₹100. Madhya Pradesh recorded the arrival of around 3,000 bags of Kabuli Chana, including 600 bags in the Indore mandi.
In Mumbai, prices for Sudan-origin Kabuli Chana remained stable at ₹7,500 per quintal. However, in Indore’s local mandi, weak buying interest led to prices ranging between ₹12,000 and ₹14,200 per quintal. Container trade prices in the region also softened, while Jalgaon's PKV2 variety remained unchanged.
In Delhi markets, the AP Line and Karnataka Line Kabuli Chana traded between ₹10,300 and ₹11,900 per quintal, with Maharashtra's PKV2 variety following a similar range. The Indore Line (Mexico Double Dollar) saw a price adjustment, trading between ₹13,600 and ₹15,900 per quintal.
The current price dip is concerning, especially as the commodity was expected to strengthen ahead of the festive season. The upcoming celebrations, including Navratri, the wedding season, and Ramadan, are anticipated to boost demand and potentially provide a firm price floor in the coming weeks. Traders and market participants are closely monitoring these developments to gauge the market’s trajectory.
