Ahmedabad, October 09 (CommoditiesControl): The cumin market in Gujarat experienced a sluggish environment today, with prices softening by 25-40 rupees per 20 kg due to weak demand. Export trade remains slow, contributing to a lack of market support. As a result, farmers have reduced their selling activities, and stockists are left holding substantial inventories.

Traders note that today's arrivals in the Unja market totaled approximately 13,000 bags. The price for rough cumin ranged from Rs 4500 to 4600 per 20 kg, while best quality cumin fetched between Rs 4800 and 4950 per 20 kg. Bombay Bold cumin saw prices ranging from Rs 4950 to 5250 per 20 kg.

Traders anticipate an increase in selling activity should there be any improvement in cumin prices.
