Mumbai, November 4 (Commodities Control): Chili prices continued to decline in the primary markets of Guntur and Khammam, driven by an increase in arrivals and the onset of early-sown crop arrivals. This downward trend is attributed to new crop inflows, albeit in small quantities, which have started to impact prices. Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka markets are beginning to see these initial harvests, leading to a price drop of ₹3-5 per kilogram across most chili varieties.

The total chili arrivals today reached 93,000 bags, marking a decrease of 3,000 bags from the previous session, as Khammam market remained closed. Guntur saw a notable rise in arrivals, with 90,000 bags—a 10,000-bag increase from the prior session. Warangal, however, reported a decline with just 3,000 bags, down by 5,000 bags compared to the last session. Khammam is set to reopen tomorrow, and arrivals are expected to increase in the coming week, which may further weigh on prices.

With the commencement of harvesting season and ample stocks in warehouses, market analysts anticipate continued pressure on chili prices in the near term.
