Mumbai, 04 Nov (Commoditiescontrol)Kabuli Chana prices remained steady across major trading centers on Monday, though there was an optimistic tone in "Mahurat" quotes from Indore. Auction prices at Ujjain’s Krishi Mandi surged to a state record, reaching ₹20,051 per quintal, significantly above the model price of ₹12,225 per quintal.
Despite this notable price increase, buying activity from millers was subdued. Traders resumed business post-Deepavali, anticipating slight market softening. In Indore, the container market remained stable with mandi arrivals totaling 6,000 bags. Mandi prices ranged from ₹12,000 to ₹14,500 per quintal, while container quotes varied between ₹12,400 and ₹16,200 per quintal, depending on quality.
In other regions, no prices were quoted for the PKV2 variety in Jalgaon, while Delhi maintained stable rates for Kabuli Chana from Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka, quoted between ₹9,500 and ₹9,800 per quintal. Maharashtra’s PKV2 variety also held steady. Mumbai saw Sudan-origin Kabuli Chana unchanged at ₹7,200 per quintal, reflecting a calm market environment. Indore’s premium Mexico Double Dollar variety was quoted between ₹13,000 and ₹15,300 per quintal.
Looking ahead, Kabuli Chana prices are expected to remain firm as demand strengthens with the onset of the wedding season and anticipated Ramadan demand. However, higher domestic prices are limiting exports, which could cap further significant price gains.
