Guntur, November 11 (CommoditiesControl) – Chili prices displayed mixed trends across major markets, with the Teja variety declining in Khammam while rising in Warangal. Prices have generally held within the ₹130-170 per kg range over the past 5-7 sessions due to the onset of new crop arrivals, keeping the market within a broad price band.
Harvesting has begun in key growing regions, and favorable dry weather is anticipated to support the harvest, likely leading to increased arrivals in the coming sessions. Market insiders suggest that buyer demand remains modest, with most buyers making purchases as needed, which may help prevent major price hikes.
Today, chili arrivals totaled 125,000 bags, a 30,000-bag increase over the previous session. Guntur led with 100,000 bags, up by 25,000 from the last session. Warangal and Khammam reported arrivals of 15,000 and 10,000 bags, respectively, each seeing a 5,000-bag increase.
With harvesting now underway, analysts expect prices could soften further as supply continues to grow, potentially leading to a more stabilized range in the coming weeks.
