New Delhi, November 14 (Commodities Control): Cotton prices remained unchanged in Lower Rajasthan on Thursday, driven by subdued purchasing activity from spinning mills, while arrivals of Kapas in the region’s mandis declined.
The limited purchasing by spinning mills has kept prices stable, with traders cautious about any significant price increases. Global cotton prices have recently softened, making exports less profitable. Additionally, local and export demand for yarn remains lower than anticipated, suggesting that cotton prices may continue to see only modest fluctuations. The prices of cottonseed and Kapas also remained stable in the region.
In the domestic futures market, cotton prices showed mixed movement. On NCDEX, Kapas for April-25 futures increased slightly by ₹0.5 to ₹1,556 per 20 kg, while on MCX, the November-24 cotton contract decreased by ₹370 to ₹55,010 per candy.
In terms of arrivals, Lower Rajasthan received 7,500 bales of Kapas, each bale equivalent to 170 kg, down from 8,000 bales in the previous trading session.
