Ahmedabad, November 14 (Commodities Control): Cotton prices in Gujarat have seen a continuous decline due to limited purchases by spinning mills, dropping by ₹400-450 per candy over the past two days. On Thursday, low demand further softened prices by ₹200 per candy. Kapas prices also declined, dropping by ₹10-15 per 20 kg.

Despite increasing arrivals of Kapas in Gujarat, subdued demand has put pressure on prices. Kapas arrivals across major markets included 15,000 maunds in Rajkot, 45,000 in Botad, 35,000 in Halvad, 13,000 in Babra, and 7,000 each in Amreli and Gadhada.

Today, prices for 29mm cotton in Gujarat ranged from ₹54,300 to ₹54,800 per candy, each candy weighing 356 kg, while 28.5mm cotton quoted between ₹53,200 and ₹53,800 per candy. V 797 cotton quoted in the range of ₹41,800 to ₹42,200 per candy. Kapas prices averaged ₹1,300-1,530 per maund, with each maund weighing 20 kg. The state recorded an arrival of approximately 25,000 bales of cotton today, with each bale weighing 170 kg.
