Indore, November 14 (Commodities Control): Cotton markets in Madhya Pradesh saw a decline in Kapas, cotton seed, and candy prices on Thursday as arrivals increased by 1,500 bales in the state’s mandis.
The increased supply put downward pressure on prices, with Kapas prices dropping by ₹200 at the upper level. Cotton seed and candy prices also softened, influenced by lower international cotton candy prices.
According to ginners, a global decline in cotton candy prices has impacted local markets, causing prices to decrease for all cotton grades. The increased supply of Kapas further pushed prices down, with a ₹100 decrease in cotton seed prices. Farmers have voiced concerns about the Cotton Corporation of India's (CCI) Minimum Support Price (MSP) purchases.
