Mumbai, 02 Dec (Commoditiescontrol): Sunflower prices in Ukraine have softened as a sluggish sunflower oil export market weighs on domestic demand. Processing enterprises adjusted purchase prices for raw sunflower seeds, now ranging between 25,000 UAH/ton and 26,000 UAH/ton CPT.
Market dynamics could shift in the near term, with Turkey set to reduce import duties on sunflower seeds to zero under its tariff quota between January 1 and April 30, 2025. Currently, Turkey levies an 8% duty within the quota, a policy change likely to boost demand for Ukrainian sunflower exports.
Additionally, Ukraine has abolished its oilseed export licensing regime, replacing it with a minimum price framework. However, export licensing requirements remain in place for shipments to Bulgaria and four other EU countries.
